There are so many ways to be involved in Canberra City Farm. We host a wide range of regular and one-off events throughout the year, from educational workshops and expert talks to hands-on Farm activities and seasonal celebrations. We have regular working bees, monthly mingles, and plant clinics.
See REGULAR EVENTS for extra details about Working Bees, Monthly Mingles, and Plant Clinics.

The Canberra City Farm is delighted to offer a second workshop on winter pruning of apples and pear trees. Join living legend of the orchard, Jonathan Banks, as we take a long hard look at our pomes.
We will start with an overview of the workshop and general discussion of your fruit tree pruning interest. In the remainder of the workshop participants will gain knowledge of and practical experience in pruning:
Jonathan will answer these questions and more. Some of the workshop will be spent in the classroom learning a bit of theory on pruning. There will also be practical time in our beautiful orchard as Jonathan demonstrates pruning techniques. Come home with the skills to get started on your own trees. No previous pruning experience necessary.
Optional Working Bee: after lunch you are welcome to join us to prune some of the pome fruit trees in our orchard under the guidance of experienced volunteers.
