VOLUNTEER
Help cultivate a warm, diverse community where we share, work and celebrate together.
Working Bees
The Farm runs on volunteers. Working bees are regular volunteer days where we come together as a community to plant, harvest, weed, mulch, compost, water, prune, laugh and generally do what needs to be done. It’s a great way to get involved while learning more about growing food regeneratively. Everyone is welcome to join us; no experience is necessary and most gardening tools are provided (BYO hat and gardening gloves). Tasks include:
- gardening in the four-bed demonstration garden
- fruit tree management
- propagation
- composting
Jobs vary throughout the seasons, but we promise if you turn up we’ll find a job to suit. It’s a great way to meet people and learn a few gardening tips from some of our more experienced green thumbs.
Working Bee Times
- Mondays 10 am –12 noon, bring a plate to share for morning tea
- Thursdays 10 am –12 noon
- Sundays 10 am –12 noon
Monthly Mingles
Once a month we aim to regenerate ourselves with great food, good ideas, and farm friends, old and new. We like to fire up the pizza oven and relax in the shade of the mulberry tree while listening to an inspirational guest speaker from our great regional talent pool. Mingles are a great way to visit the Farm, meet the community and learn from each other. All welcome.
Monthly Mingle Times
- Third Sunday of every month, between 12 noon and 3 pm
- If we’re firing the pizza oven, BYO toppings. We provide bases, cheese and passata (NB the pizza oven fire is weather dependent)
- See EVENTS page for details of next mingle and RSVP on the actual event.
Plant Clinics
During the Sunday working bee, the plant clinic helps gardeners to identify pests and diseases and learn how to deal with them using organic methods. To avoid spreading garden problems, please bring any diseased plant material in a sealed plastic bag.
Working Bee with Plant Clinic
- Sundays 10 am –12 noon
