Our Hub

The Farm is a hub where other organisations with similar vision and purpose can find a home. Being in the same place makes it easy for us to collaborate and grow. We also welcome start-ups in the field of regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems.

Global Worming

Global Worming has one of their worm farms in the south-east corner of the Farm. Millions of worms do valuable work by converting food waste into vermicompost, one of the best tonics for regenerating our soils. Global Worming is run by Cid Riley, a valued member of our farm community, who provides regular vermicultural workshops and tours. Our propagation shed runs on Global Worming juice – it’s good stuff!

ACT for Bees and Other Pollinators

Self-described as the voice for the bees and pollinators, this groups meets regularly in the super shed and we are working with them to maximise the Farm’s bee-and-pollinator-friendliness. These busy bees offer advocacy and education programs throughout the Canberra region. You can subscribe to their newsletter, Bee Newz, and find out about events on their website.

Canberra Region Beekeepers

The Farm is home to the Jerrabomberra Wetlands apiary run by the Canberra Region Beekeepers. They use the apiary for ‘beginning beekeeper’ training courses, demonstrations and club field days. Our plants absolutely love their work!

Canberra Seed Savers Cooperative

How does a Seedy Saturday sound? Canberra Seed Savers is a co-operative network of backyard growers and farmers who grow, save and share locally-adapted herb and vegetable seeds. They meet regularly in our super shed for seedy business and offer regular workshops to educate and inspire more gardeners to save seeds. You can subscribe to their newsletter and pick up some of their seeds inside our Local Energy Super Shed (LESS) via an honesty box (open during our working bees and events).

Southern Harvest

Southern Harvest connects farmers and eaters through their multi-farm produce boxes. At the Farm they’re set up for receiving produce, packing, sorting, and the collection of food boxes. Southern Harvest aims to foster the sustainable growth and availability of local produce within the region through market opportunities, education, networking and advocacy. Stead Foundation

This not-for-profit grows native plants at the Farm for bush regeneration. They collect plants under licence from the ACT government and provide these to ACT Parks and Conservation Service, as well as the Farm. Planting for birds, bees and beneficial insects is part of our regenerative plan. The Stead Foundation also has a demonstration garden of native food plants suitable for growing in Canberra.
