Join us for Compost Day!
Sunday 29 September, 9.30 am til lunchtime
A fun day of turning our green waste into microbial gold! As we transition into managing all our organic stuff on site and producing our own compost, we invite you to join us. It’s a chance to learn the science and art of making great compost, be part of our thriving community, and help get the Farm ready for our big Community Garden Gathering on October 12.
- Brian will demonstrate how to use the shredder
- free compost from the heaps we made six months ago, in return for a minimum of one hour’s volunteering (including at any working bee prepping for the heap)
- delicious cake for morning tea.
We need volunteers on the working bees of 19, 23 and 26 September. Jobs include shredding, building compost bays, collecting chicken manure and sifting the OSCA compost. If you would like to see the process of making the inoculant for the compost heap we will be starting the brew at 1:30 pm on 25 September.
