Canberra City Farm has a number of allotments of various sizes that members can use on an annual basis to grow their own food. This can be especially helpful for those who live in high rise or don’t have access to land to make their own garden. At the moment, there is a waiting list, so please contact info@ccfarm.org.au for further information and to be placed on the list. There is an expectation that people who work these plots will also participate in teaching others and will volunteer some time to the larger Farm purposes, in a way that fits in with their other commitments.
Please note, you must be a financial member of the Farm to go on the waiting list for an allotment and you must be a financial member whenever you are using a plot.
Building on earlier work, we have developed a handbook for our garden allotment holders. The handbook provides guidance to assist in looking after the garden allotments, and the communal areas of the Farm. If you have any suggested changes or additions, please email info@ccfarm.org.au. A copy of the handbook is available here.
